Autolux is a trio from L.A. that has a very dreamy sound. They are incredible live! This song is off of "Future Perfect," their first album which blows away their second....which took years to make.
A daily taste of music to wet your lips and get you to shake your ass. This blog is an alternative to my dream of owning a record store. I'll include songs I love, songs you should hear, and songs that make me cringe. Enjoy!

U2 - Mercy
I've neglected this blog more than I would have liked to during the past few weeks. Our schedule has been crazy. U2 is one of my favorite bands of all time and this is one of their songs that's never been released on record....and I don't know why.

The Who - Baby O'Riley
I've never been a big "The Who" fan...or "Who" fan...not sure which way to say it. Also, I have to admit that I've gotten into many arguments about Zep vs. The Who (Zep wins). However, today I read that it's Keith Moon's bday and when he turned 21, he ran his car into a Holiday Inn pool in Flint, MI....very rock star. The fact is, The Who are a great band, I just need to educate myself a little better. Happy bday Pete!

A.C. Newman - Miracle Drug
I'm still running through some old songs on my iTunes. A.C. Newman put out a great record called "The Slow Wonder" in 2004. "Miracle Drug" was the first song and it's a great one...but a little dated.

Fujiya & Miyago - Ankle Injuries
Fujiya & Miyagi is an English band I found around 2006. Transparent Things was the name of the album and I recently re-discovered them....in my iTunes. Their music is described as Krautrock.....like the Aphex Twins...thanks wiki.
Enjoy.

The Comas - The Science of your Mind
The Comas are an indie band from N.C. I recently added alot of my older songs to my iPod and forgot how much I loved their album "Conductor."

Elvis - That's All Right
Today is the Anniversary of the King's death. It's a shame those around him didn't control his drug habit. This "Comeback" performance defines what's cool with rock-n-roll.

Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd
I'm not much of a Skynyd fan, but Simple Man is a great song. This song is dedicated to my Southern brother Joe's bday. Happy Bday, Joe.

Jimi Hendrix - Astro Man
I will dedicate an entire week to Hendrix at some point, but until then.....one of my favs from "The Man!" The beginning of the song ("here I come to save the day") used to really bother me, but the song really demonstrates how great Jimi was.

Explosions in the Sky - Your Hand in Mine
An instrumental, post-punk band from Texas that I watched live on lollapalooza.com this weekend. Great guitar sounds, but the songs are a little too lo

Lollapalooza - Jane's Addiction "Chip Away" 1991
We were on vacation this week so I took a few days off from blogging. Today is the start of Lollapalooza and it's the 20th anniversary of the festival (I feel old). ILolla isn't quite what it used to be (actually not at all), but it's still a place to have fun with friends (if you can deal with large crowds). The fest is scheduled to stay in Chicago through 2018 and I'm looking forward to taking Molly to Kidzapalooza for a punk-rock haircut, some kids tunes, and drum circles in a few years.
In honor of the Perry Farrell's original idea and lineup (Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nine Inch Nails, Living Colour, Ice-T and Body Count, the Butthole Surfers, and Rollins Band) here's a clip of Jane's Addiction (with drummers from the other bands) in 1991. Video quality isn't great....but remember it's 20 years old!
