The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

If anyone actually reads this....I apologize for not blogging (I'm probably talking to myself). Work has been kicking my ass and any free time I have, I just want to be with Maggie and Molly. I need to try harder to blog because I truly do love music....I just don't know what's "cutting edge" anymore.  Blame it on being older, busy, a Dad, .....whatever.

The Black Keys own music right now.......awesome video as well!

Nirvana - Lounge Act (20th Anniversary of Nevermind)

I can't believe we just hit the 20th Anniversary of Nirvana's "Nevermind."  I feel really old now.

R.E.M - Ages of You

The word is that R.E.M has disbanded today. It's sad news, but like all great bands, there comes a time to call it quits. I can't say enough about how great R.E.M was and it should be noted that they were the first truly successful "indie band." Thanks to Michael, Peter, Mike, and Bill.  The end of the world as we know it?.....probably not, but they will be missed.

The Church - Under The Milky Way

I heard this song while driving home tonight, and it reminded me how great the movie Donnie Darko is.

The soundtrack is perfect for the movie, and The Church song, "Under The Milky Way" is one of the best...

The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Brendan's Death Song

I broke down and bought the latest RHCP album. Guitar-God, John Frusciante left the band in 2009 and was replaced by a young guy named Josh Klinghoffer (my brother Jon and I saw him open for Jane's Addiction at a small club 2 years ago). The Peppers are definitely "adult contemporary" but they still make beautiful music. Brendan's Death Song was written for the late Brendan Mullen, a club owner who gave the Peppers a shot to open for the Bad Brains back in the day.

Ryan Adams - Two

I've been neglecting the blog lately and I feel really guilty for it. How hard is it to select 1 song per day? (hard with a little one and a new job). The new job has been keeping me really busy, but I need to take a few minutes out of each day to post a song.  Here's a beauty of a song called "Two" by Ryan Adams....off of his 2007 release, "Easy Tiger."  My favorite song of his.

Neon Indian - Polish Girl

Neon Indian is a band from Brooklyn (actually from Denton, TX). Their music is considered Electronic, Chillwave, Noise Pop.  Check em out.

M83 - Kim and Jessie

I was into electro pop in the early 2000's, but got bored with the sound. A few years ago, I heard M83 and realized that there were still some great electro bands out there (Depeche Mode being the best).  M83 was founded in 2001 by French musician Anthony Gonzalez and they have a new record coming out mid-October...I may check it out.

Autolux - Asleep at the Trigger

Autolux is a trio from L.A. that has a very dreamy sound.  They are incredible live!  This song is off of "Future Perfect," their first album which blows away their second....which took years to make.

U2 - Mercy

I've neglected this blog more than I would have liked to during the past few weeks.  Our schedule has been crazy.  U2 is one of my favorite bands of all time and this is one of their songs that's never been released on record....and I don't know why.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

The Who - Baby O'Riley

I've never been a big "The Who" fan...or "Who" fan...not sure which way to say it.  Also, I have to admit that I've gotten into many arguments about Zep vs. The Who (Zep wins). However, today I read that it's Keith Moon's bday and when he turned 21, he ran his car into a Holiday Inn pool in Flint, MI....very rock star.  The fact is, The Who are a great band, I just need to educate myself a little better.  Happy bday Pete!

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

A.C. Newman - Miracle Drug

I'm still running through some old songs on my iTunes.  A.C. Newman put out a great record called "The Slow Wonder" in 2004.  "Miracle Drug" was the first song and it's a great one...but a little dated.

Fujiya & Miyago - Ankle Injuries

Fujiya & Miyagi is an English band I found around 2006.  Transparent Things was the name of the album and I recently re-discovered them....in my iTunes.  Their music is described as Krautrock.....like the Aphex Twins...thanks wiki.

Enjoy.

The Comas - The Science of your Mind

The Comas are an indie band from N.C.  I recently added alot of my older songs to my iPod and forgot how much I loved their album "Conductor."

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Elvis - That's All Right

Today is the Anniversary of the King's death. It's a shame those around him didn't control his drug habit. This "Comeback" performance defines what's cool with rock-n-roll.

Monday, August 15, 2011

Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd

I'm not much of a Skynyd fan, but Simple Man is a great song. This song is dedicated to my Southern brother Joe's bday.  Happy Bday, Joe.

Wilco - I Might

New song from Wilco...and I likey alot.  Looking forward to their new album due 9/27 (i think).

Check it out....

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

Jimi Hendrix - Astro Man

I will dedicate an entire week to Hendrix at some point, but until then.....one of my favs from "The Man!"  The beginning of the song ("here I come to save the day") used to really bother me, but the song really demonstrates how great Jimi was.

Explosions in the Sky - Your Hand in Mine

An instrumental, post-punk band from Texas that I watched live on lollapalooza.com this weekend. Great guitar sounds, but the songs are a little too lo

Lollapalooza - Jane's Addiction "Chip Away" 1991

We were on vacation this week so I took a few days off from blogging. Today is the start of Lollapalooza and it's the 20th anniversary of the festival (I feel old). ILolla isn't quite what it used to be (actually not at all), but it's still a place to have fun with friends (if you can deal with large crowds). The fest is scheduled to stay in Chicago through 2018 and I'm looking forward to taking Molly to Kidzapalooza for a punk-rock haircut, some kids tunes, and drum circles in a few years.

In honor of the Perry Farrell's original idea and lineup (Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nine Inch Nails, Living Colour, Ice-T and Body Count, the Butthole Surfers, and Rollins Band) here's a clip of Jane's Addiction (with drummers from the other bands) in 1991. Video quality isn't great....but remember it's 20 years old!

The Good, The Bad, & The Queen - History Song

This band is another of Damon Albarn's projects. I was never much of a Blur fan, but everything he's done in the past 5-6 years has been really good.  "History Song" is my favorite track and Frank Black also covers this song. Here are both versions.

The Good, The Bad & the Queen

John Frusciante - "A Corner" off D.C. EP

This song is off an EP released by John Frusciante back in 2004. He recorded this in D.C. with Fugazi's Ian MacKaye, and used one of Guy Picciotto's guitars. They only recorded 4 songs, but many are better than anything from the modern day Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Monday, July 25, 2011

Midlake - Roscoe

Midlake were a bunch of Jazz musicians who learned how to play indie music.  From Denton, TX...check them out.

The Gorillaz - Stylo

The Gorillaz are a hit-or-miss band for a lot of people. I personally love them. Stylo is a great song that features Mos Def.

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Yuck - Georgia

Yuck are an indie band from England that have a Dinosaur Jr. guitar sound.  Thanks for the recommendation, Mark.

Tune Yards - Bizness

Tune Yards is a pretty unique band that played at Pitchfork Fest this year. I didn't get a chance to see them play, but XRT has been giving them alot of airtime lately. Part of me can't stand the song, but part of me thinks it's a great shot at creativity. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Sunday, July 17, 2011

Arcade Fire - "Neon Bible"

This is a great song/video by Arcade Fire. Only this band could pull off something so cool.

Saturday, July 16, 2011

Guided by Voices - "I am a Scientist"

In honor of the Pitchfork Festival.....Guided by Voices.  I saw them last night at the Pitchfork fest....old band, but still very good live.  Neko Case joined them on stage.

Thursday, July 14, 2011

Small Black - "Despicable Dogs"

My friend Dan introduced me to this "chillwave" band from Brooklyn last year. Very 80's....but oh-so-good!

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Radiohead - "National Anthem"

Fast post tonight because I just got home. Just a quickie to express my mood.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Deerhunter - Nothing Ever Happened

Deerhunter is one of my favorite bands in the last 3 years. The band describes themselves as "ambient punk," and "Nothing Ever Happened" is a song that very much captures that idea. I'm very excited to see them this weekend at the Pitchfork Festival, but have to admit that their lead singer (Bradford Cox) might be one of the ugliest frontmen since Ric Ocasek. This song is off their 2008 release, Microcastle.

TV on the Radio - Second Song

I've decided to get away from theme's for a few weeks and put some focus on new bands/songs that I really like. Today's post is TV on the Radio.  They've been around for almost 10 years and I'm just now getting into them. Their latest album, Nine Types of Light is amazing. Maggie bought me the LP for our anniversary.

Guilty Pleasure Songs (Day 7) - Big Reel Fish "Sellout"

Sean gets the last pick for this weeks theme and chose Big Reel Fish's "Sellout".  As Sean described "A relic from middle school days that has never faded from my memory."

Saturday, July 9, 2011

Guilty Pleasure Songs (Day 6) - Back Street Boys "Hey Mr. DJ"

Day 6 of Guilty Pleasure songs.  The Sus picks one from back in the day....The Back Street Boys hit "Hey Mr. DJ."  Susie was kind enough to sing part of the song for us in South Carolina and she proved that this song is her guilty pleasure song.

Friday, July 8, 2011

Guilty Pleasure Songs (Day 5) - Cee Lo Green "F You"

I'm up for Day 5 of Guilty Pleasure songs. I've selected Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" or "F&$# You"...depending on which version you hear. I was never a Gnarls Barkley fan, but this tune tends to stick in my head each time I hear it.

Black Keys "Everlasting Light" Happy 1st Birthday to our little Molly

Guilty Pleasure Songs (Day 4) - Poison's "Every Rose has it's Thorn"

Maggie's song for day 4....and a very, very guilty song it is.  Poison's "Every Rose has it's Thorn" also known as "Rose" by Brett Michaels will forever be tattooed on my wife's brain.  She sings it in the shower, at karaoke and even to Molly each night. I think everyone with a pulse has heard this song at one point in their lives.  As a matter of fact, "Rose" was one of my favorite songs when I was young, dumb and very into hair bands....thank God I grew up.

Thanks to Maggie for having the guts to pick such a gem! :)

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Guilty Pleasure Songs (Day 3) - Bryan Adams "Cuts like a Knife"

Betsy is up for Day 3 of Guilty Pleasure songs. "Cuts like a Knife" by Bryan Adams was one of those songs that Betsy always dreamed to see live...and she got her wish this year in Hyderabad, India. With lighter in hand, Betsy swayed with the crowd, enjoying many of the hits. When "Cuts like a Knife" played, she left her friends so she could enjoy her guilty pleasure by herself.

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Guilty Pleasure Songs (Day 2) - America "Horse with No Name"

Terry's pick for Day 2 is America's "Horse with No Name." His first pick was "96 Tears" by Question Mark and the Mysterians (best band name ever) but the song is too good for a Guilty Pleasure post.

Monday, July 4, 2011

Happy 4th of July - Galaxy 500 "Fourth of July"

Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm doing a second post in honor of the holiday.  Dean Wareham's (Luna) first band, Galaxy 500.

Guilty Pleasure Songs - Gregory Abott.

We're in South Carolina this week with family and I've decided to have everyone pick a song for this week's theme....Guilty Pleasure songs.  Everyone has at least one tune that they love to hear, but only when no one else is around.

Up first is Lynette's pick "Shake You Down" by Gregory Abott (the next Marvin Gaye.....that never happened). It has everything from senseless catch phrases, spoken word, a nursery rhyme and I think an attempt at a rap. It's a great example of a guilty pleasure song....and everyone about 30 has heard this song.

Sunday, July 3, 2011

Funny cover songs (Day 7) - Hillary Duff "My Generation"

Another example of why you should never have Disney, bubble gum chewing, performers sing rebel songs. It doesn't work for Britney and it surely doesn't work for the Duffster.

Saturday, July 2, 2011

Funny cover songs (Day 6) - Britney Spears "I Love Rock n Roll"

Good ol Brit Brit doing a Joan Jett song. It's too bad no one has the heart to tell her that she can't sing. I want Britney to bring crazy back....like JT brought sexy back. That aggressive, weird, bald-headed Britney is what entertains me....the other stuff is just blah.

Friday, July 1, 2011

Funny cover songs (Day 5) - Kelly Osbourne "Papa don't Preach"

Kelly Osbourne's attempt at fame...but she can't sing, write, or dance. Luckily her Papa let her use his money to record a song....similar to that "Friday" girl....and same result....a piece of english shite.

Happy 4th Anniversary

I meant to post this yesterday, as it was our 4th Anniversary, but we were a little rushed to get to dinner.

To my lovely wife.....I love you!

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Congrats to the Brandi's - My Girl

Two of our close friends (Mark & Kylie) had a baby girl!  Elaine Rae Brandi.

This song is for Mark.

Funny cover songs (Day 2) - Miley Cyrus "Smells like teen spirit"

One word......why?  Two words.....this sucks.  Three words......fire her manager.  Four words......does she know nirvana?

Monday, June 27, 2011

Funny cover songs (Day 1) - Dave Grohl doing Creed's "Arm's Wide Open"

Every generation deserves a band that they can call Great.....and Creed was not that band. In fact, Creed might be one of the shittiest bands to ever hit the radio waves. C-R-E-E-D answers the question "When did Rock-n-Roll become so douchey?"  I've kept this blog pretty positive so far, but it's time to get into the "Pathetic."

Dave Grohl (Nirvana) does a cover of Creed's "Arm's Wide Open" and nails it with the purest, sarcastic tone. Nice work, Mr. Grohl.

Do they still have it (Day 7) - Robert Plant

Today is the final day of this weeks theme, "Do they still have it?"  Today's entry is Robert Plant....not Robert Plant in Zeppelin, but Robert Plant outside of Zeppelin. Plant has put out numerous solo records since Zeppelin and not all of them are good...actually I could probably only list a handful of good songs. Plant created a great record with Alison Krauss a few years ago and this year he released a record with The Band of Joy. Plant (and John Bonham) were both members of The Band of Joy prior to forming Led Zeppelin (1965). Maggie and I saw them a few months ago and it was mind blowing good....Robert Plant still has it!

Do they still have it (Day 6) - Jane's Addiction

Anyone who knows me knows that I consider Jane's Addiction one of the best bands of all time. In my opinion, the original lineup of Perry Farrell, Eric Avery, Stephen Perkins and Dave Navarro could match up against any other band (except for Zeppelin). Jane's Addiction has been known to implode many times and can't seem to keep bass players. Avery, Flea, Martin LeNoble, Chris Chaney, Duff, and Dave Sitek have all played bass, but Farrell, Perkins, and Navarro have all been constants. I could post tons of material about why Jane's were once rock Gods, but I'll leave that up to another time when I dedicate a week to them. The albums Live XXX, Nothing's Shocking, and Ritual de lo Habitual were all gems, then they released the crap album "Strays" in 2003. Avery rejoined the group in 2009 and I was able to see 3 great shows that year. As expected, Avery quit again (there's alot of hatred between him and Farrell) and Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio) filled in for the upcoming album "The Great Escape Artist." I'm not convince that they still "have it," but I give them credit for trying out an updated sound.

Do they still have it (Day 5) - The Beastie Boys

I started listening to the Beastie Boys in 5th grade while trying to BMX (and skateboard). The Beastie's are a frat boys dream group as every room in my house in college had them playing 24/7.  When I hear those songs, it takes me way back. Last year, MCA (Adam Yauch) was diagnosed with cancer, but thankfully pulled through. I don't think the Beasties put out unique music anymore, but they still have the ingredients for Beastie music....they still have it.

Hold it now, Hit it (1986)

Make some noise (2011)...great cameo's in the video.

Do they still have it (Day 4) - The Meat Puppets

A "Vile" day as my flight got cancelled and I'm stuck in NY.

My theory...95% of the people who know the Meat Puppets know them from Nirvana Unplugged.  Nirvana covered many of their songs and the Kirkwood brothers played during that performance.

The Meat Puppets have been around since the start of the 80's and started as a "punk" band with SST records. I'm not going to lie and say I'm a huge fan, but I do like some of their music. Based on their new songs, I'd say that they still produce a nice sound.....so, they still have it.

Do they Still Have it (Day 3) - R.E.M.

R.E.M....the forefathers of independent music labels from Athens, GA. They wanted to do it they're way from day 1 and created their own record label to give them 100% creative freedom. R.E.M. has always been a respected band, and even with their less-than-spectacular music this past decade, I do feel that they still have IT.

Do they still have it (Day 2) - Duran Duran

Duran Duran defined 80's music (and music videos) better than anyone in their time. I was so obsessed with the band that I dressed like guitar player, Andy Taylor in the 5th grade. Thank God, no pictures exist. The band peaked in the 80's but have put together ok music since. I'm not too excited with their new single. Do they still have it?  Gotta go with no on this one.

Do they still have it (Day 1) - The Cars

Day 1 of weekly theme: Do they still have it?  I grew up loving The Cars and I still smile when I hear their songs. Ric Ocasek (quite possibly the ugliest rock star to marry a supermodel) reunited the band (minus Benjamin Orr) in 2010 and they put out a new record this year. This is the song that gave me the idea of "Do they still have it?"  The answer for The Cars....yes!

Their new single "Sad Song" takes me right back to the my childhood, but I think it works. Take a listen to the different songs and judge for yourself.

Sad Song (2011)

Just what I needed (1978)...a wicked video

The Blues (Day 7) - B.B. King "Rock me Baby"

The final day of this weeks theme - The Blues.  Any blues related list must include B.B. King....period.

RIP Clarence Clemons

A sad day for music fans as Clarence Clemons, sax player passed away after a stroke last week. I'm very bummed because I've never been to a Springsteen show and have always wanted to. Now they won't be the same.

RIP Clarence Clemons.

The Blues (Day 6) - Melvin Taylor "The Sky is Crying"

Day 6 of the weeks theme - The Blues.  Today's post is a man who puts Jimi Hendrix to shame.....only kidding.  Melvin Taylor is Chicago's very own and calls the Blues Bar, Rosa's his home.  My friend Al introduced me to him years ago and many bands, including the Stones and The Who will pop in to see Melvin play when they're in town. Check him out if you get a chance...his guitar playing is sick!

Friday, June 17, 2011

The Blues (Day 5) - RL Burnside "Goin' down South"

Day 5 of the weeks theme - The Blues.  North Mississippi blues singer/guitarist RL Burnside. I never knew who RL was until the late 90's when Jon Spencer partnered with him on some recordings. I was fortunate to see him play live at the Highdive in Champaign, IL.

Thursday, June 16, 2011

The Blues (Day 4) - Jack White - Fly Farm Blues

Day 4 of the weeks theme - The Blues. From the movie "It Might Get Loud".....once again, Mr. Jack White w/Fly Farm Blues.

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Glenn Miller - String of Pearls (in honor of Tom Lagomarcino)

I'm doing a 2nd post in honor of an old friend who passed away a few days ago. Tom Lagomarcino, owner of Lagomarcino's in Moline was an incredible person to know. This world will miss him and my heart goes out to his family.

Day 3 of the weeks theme - The Blues.  Up today....The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.....'nuff said.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

The Blues (Day 2) The Black Keys - Busted

Day 2 of the this weeks theme - The Blues! I could write an entire book explaining why the Black Keys are one of the best bands in the world....but I'll keep it short. Two dudes from Akron, OH who thrash, shake, stomp and jam. They've got the "Blues" thing down. Last years record "Brothers" was my favorite album of the year. This song is off their album "The Big Come Up."  Go get it.

Monday, June 13, 2011

Buddy Guy - Done Got Old

In honor of Chicago Blues Fest, I'm doing 7 days of the BLUES. In no ranking order, I'm going to post 1 song per day of musicians I like and hope that you'll check em out.  There will be many, many greats missing from this list, but I'm sure you'll see them on this blog in the future.

Up first is Chicago's very own....Mr. Buddy Guy.

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Sonic Youth - Kool Thing (Kim Gordon)

Day 7 and final day of this weeks theme of female singers.  The almighty Kim Gordon.  Kim's the bass player of Sonic Youth, and has one of the most unique voices of all rock musicians.  Not a conventional voice, but definitely a rock voice.

Neko Case - Hold on, Hold on

Day 5 of this weeks theme - Female singers. Neko Case has some great solo albums, but is also a part timer with the New Pornographers.  She's has a very dreamy, echoed voice that can give you chills.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs - Maps (Karen O)

Day 4 of this weeks theme - Female singers. Karen O of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs.  The first time I saw them live, she stole the show at Lollapalooza.  Their latest album is a little "pop," but still worth checking out.

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Dean & Britta - Nightnurse

Day 3 of this weeks theme - Female Singers.  Britta Phillips of "Dean & Britta"...former bassist for Dean's great, former band, Luna. Britta was best known as the voice of "Jem"....the popular 80's, girl/rock cartoon. Dean is one of the early pioneers of "dream pop" and Britta's voice blends in perfectly.  We saw them a few years ago at the MCA in Chicago called "13 most beautiful...songs for Andy Warhol's screen tests." It was great.

Check out Dean's early band Galaxy 500 and buy EVERY Luna record...one of my favorite bands since my friend George introduced me to them in college.

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

Loretta Lynn - Portland, Oregon

Day 3 of this weeks theme - Female Singers.  Loretta Lynn, aka "The Coal Miners Daughter" makes my list because she's one of the best country singers of all time. In 2004, Mrs. Lynn partnered with Jack White of the White Stripes and put together an incredible record, "Van Lear Rose."  White produced it and re-introduced her to stardom.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

The Pixies - Gigantic

Day 2 of this weeks theme - Female Singers. I've already blogged about Frank Black of the Pixies and today's post is about his sidekick/rival/nemesis, Kim Deal. The Pixies were a great 90's band that imploded, mostly because Frank was the leader and Kim was starting to take some of the spotlight. She's a great bass player, but it's her angelic, "pixie-ish" voice that really sets her apart from other singers. After the Pixies, Kim formed The Breeders with her sister, but the Pixies have reunited a few times in past years.

The Kills - Future Starts Slow

I've decided to dedicate this week to female singers that I love.  Up first is Alison Mosshart, lead singer of The Kills. In my mind, she's one of the most talented singers around and she could kick GaGa's ass. Alison is also known for playing with Jack White's other, other band, the Dead Weather....another great band that I'll blog about some time. I recently saw The Kills with my Irish brother, Patrick, and we both walked away very happy with their live performance.  Check out all of their albums.

Sunday, June 5, 2011

Lady GaGa - Born this way (Pathetic)

We watched the last episode of SNL last night and Lady GaGa's performance made my "Pathetic" list. The only thing I give her is that she actually plays her own music and can sing. Her popularity is based on shock value, funky costumes, and GREAT marketing....there is nothing original or interesting. This performance was so bad that I thought it might actually be a skit...or should be a skit or movie done by Christopher Guest. I won't even try to understand the pregnancy part. Lady GaGa is a Madonna wanna-be (see blonde extensions and Vogue-type dancers, and crotch grab).

The National - Terrible Love (Alternative version)

The National is a band from Cincinnati, OH (although they now claim NY as their home base).  Maggie, myself and Mark and Kylie recently saw them in Chicago with the Arcade Fire and they are an incredible live band.  I  was a little behind in getting into them, but I'm now obsessed.

The National - Terrible Love (Alternate version) from the Terrible Love lp single.

Friday, June 3, 2011

Thurston Moore - Benediction

Sonic Youth is one of my favorite bands of all time and lead singer, Thurston Moore has released yet another great solo record.  Beck produced this record and Benediction is the first song.

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Shuffle Your Feet

Being in NY today, I've decided to make today's post a guest choice from my gracious hosts Jake and Corinne.  My little brother Jon had some input also since he's a New Yorker also.

One of the best bands in the last decade.....The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.....

Unknown artist - Jeremy's Theme Song

I dedicate today's post to my brother Jeremy.  It's his birthday today and he's going to be a Father in a few months.  I found the song on youtube while searching for song's with "Jeremy" in the title.  It's a strange tune/video, but appropriate as he'll be joining me in the world of weird children's songs soon.

Have a great one, Jeremy!

Wilco - Misunderstood

This is the first of many future Wilco entries.  Wilco is a band that my wife introduced me to when we first started dating. I had heard of them, but never really listened. Back in her old office, she played me this song and I fell in love with their sound....after falling for her, of course!  :)

U2 - Winter

Happy Memorial Day.  Me, Maggs and Molly flew to Hot Springs, Arkansas for a family reunion this weekend and I neglected my blog since we were in the boonies. Last night, we had a rough one (2 hr delay, 1.5 hr flight, 3 hr tarmac adventure, 1 hr in baggage claim, and no baggage) and I wanted to dedicate today's post to American Airlines.  However, it probably wouldn't be appropriate on a special holiday.

For today, I chose U2's "Winter" from the "Brothers" soundtrack. Enjoy the day!

Black Angels - The Boat Song

The Black Angels hold a special place in my heart for a few reasons other than their hypnotic music.  My brothers, Jacob and Jon recently designed gig posters for the band in NYC.  They sold ~70 posters and I'm VERY PROUD of them.  The Boat Song by the Black Angels (record store day 10in vinyl release).....enjoy!
